Well now is the time! We needed a Doc like performance Saturday, he and we, the Braves, Dodgers and Brewers knew it and now what? I remember when Carlton became average and it happens fast!
Is Halladay finished? Sure looks that way after another dismal start of today with 1 2/3 – 7 run effort today. We brought “Doc” here for a second World Championship and his now with his Blantonesque (Joe Blanton) ERA it surely looks improbable that he’s “the guy” to get us there in 2013. After a far less than average year should the Phillies try to move Doc and his $20,000,000 salary for 2013 in the soon to come off season. His 4.03 ERA make the former ace officially average for MLB pitchers; his $20M is not. $20M can go a long way to getting a real third baseman and a center fielder for 2013. The real problem is at 35 he no longer looks like “Doc” he looks like just an aging Harry Leroy Halladay. Ruben needs to make a call to Magic Johnson and the Dodgers as this may very well be the idea place for us to unload the average Harry. Better too soon than too late! Fact is it may be too late! His money stops the Phillies from doing other things. We can get any 4.03 average arm for 7-10 Million. If the Dodgers took that dead beat lazy Josh Beckett I’m pretty sure a hard working team oriented guy would fit in great in LA. Ruben you have the number right!
